What to Expect

Water Damage Mitigation Services

Thank you for choosing Superior Cleaning & Restoration. Our primary goal is to promptly return your residence or business to a pre-loss condition while providing excellent customer service. In order to reach this goal, we have a few important points for you to know about our process:

  • If this is our first visit, our technician will inspect the premises and begin the drying process for you. Typically this involves setting up dehumidifiers and air movers to dry the structure and contents. The technician will also have some paperwork for you to sign, including contracts and other paperwork specific to your loss. Please fill these forms out with all relevant information so that we can proceed with the work as quickly as possible.
  • We follow the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) guidelines which recommend application of disinfectants on some water-damaged surfaces to reduce potential growth of mold and/or mildew. The technician who has responded to your loss will provide you with the appropriate material safety data sheets (MSDS) forms.
  • The equipment can be loud and will create a much warmer than normal environment, however we ask that you please leave the equipment running. This will expedite the drying process and allow equipment removal as soon as possible.
  • Please keep in mind the equipment may malfunction and cause additional damage if not shut down properly. Because of this, we strongly recommend that you do not unplug or turn off equipment unless you have contacted us.
  • During the initial visit, it is best to schedule a time for the next appointment, either with the technician or with our office so that we can "monitor" the drying process. If the initial visit is after-hours, we may need to call you back during regular business hours to schedule the next appointment.
  • "Monitor" visits allow us to reposition equipment add or remove equipment as necessary and as drying conditions change. We also take detailed moisture readings at that time to ensure the water-damaged areas are dried to industry standards.
  • Depending on the severity of the loss, we will perform monitor visits as necessary. Larger or more complex drying projects may require additional visits. Reinstalling carpet, baseboards, and cleaning the carpets may also require additional visits by our technicians.
